Spring / Summer Trends 2019 | Ruti

Am I supposed to follow fashion trends?

Do I really want to follow all of these trends that are coming and going so often?

Are trends still real?

I keep asking myself these questions - what is my take on this is? Clearly the shelf life of new trends, in the era of social networks when everyone and their mom is a fashion journalist, is shorter than ever. The trend is over before it really even started.

Do I, as a designer, want to follow global fashion trends? On one hand, it's important for me to offer a unique product that you cannot find anywhere else, but on the other, being fashionably correct also means being part of what is happening around us. Therefore, I'm a trend freak. I follow every piece of fashion news enthusiastically. Then I carefully pick (literally with tweezers!) the trends I believe are real and are precisely aligned with the Ruti woman.

Here's to another year of being super unique and fashionably on-trend ;)

My Spring/Summer 2019 Trends:

1. Matchy Matchy

When the trend also supports being and feeling comfortable, I'm the first to adopt it. What can be more cool than to not need to think about what to wear in the morning while it is so on trend!

2. Adventure Trend

Take all all of your cargo clothing out and let it see the light of day. I've invested so much in this look and I've loved it for years. I'm so happy to see it on trend this season. What do we have here? Safari looks, cargo pants, etc.

3. Silver & Metallic

I don't often wear clothing that is too dressy. I like heels, but only on other women - I can't walk three steps in them! So my wardrobe is built mostly around clothing that you can wear with cool sneakers. And last year, I finally found that metallic works amazing for casual wear. Love that shiny trend!

4. Dominatrix & Faux Leather

Anything Rock and Roll, and everything vegan - I adopt it in a second.

5. Yellow

This is the most surprising trend of the year. Yellow, seriously? Well, yes! Most women will say that yellow is not flattering, but guess what, it only works well when you mix it with other colors. It's the color of the sun and the summer. It's pure sunshine, and you must have at least one yellow piece for 2019.
